The Pirates' House began as an inn and tavern for visiting sailors, the restaurant says, one of the first buildings on the old Trustees' Garden. Caroline Drwiega, its costumed pirate for 14 years, says a little boy with blond hair and a white shirt "shows up on the staircase."
