Ghost tour in Austin
Run by Haunted ATX
Book through our links and Spookt gets a small cut, at no extra cost to you. It keeps the research going. How that works
Haunted ATX runs this ghost tour in a classic Cadillac hearse converted into a limousine, with a guide in costume and room for up to six. Guests climb out often and go inside some of the stops, among them the Driskill hotel, Littlefield House at the University of Texas, and Clay Pit, an Indian restaurant in the old Bertram Building. It’s BYOB with sodas and water on ice, for ages 13 and up, and it suits anyone who would rather ride between Austin’s haunted places than walk them.
Checked daily. Times and the meeting point are on Viator.
Places
House
George Littlefield died in this campus mansion in 1920, and The Daily Texan, the University of Texas student paper, reports that people see a woman they take for his wife, Alice, at the upstairs windows.
Hotel
Cattle baron Jesse Driskill opened his hotel in 1886, and ghost tour guide Monica Ballard tells of a guest who woke at 3 a.m. to find him at the window, puffing on a cigar.
