About This Tour

The company says its founder organized the 2002 conference at which the American Institute of Parapsychology named Savannah “America’s Most Haunted City.” This walk through the oldest part of the Historic District tells the stories behind the title. It crosses about a dozen squares, from the only witch the company says Savannah ever executed to a house it says was exorcised four times. It’s for ages 13 and up.

Wright Square

When Tomochichi, the Yamacraw leader who helped Savannah's first colonists, died in 1739, he was given a British military funeral and buried in what is now Wright Square. Guide Enocha Edenfield told WSAV, a Savannah TV station, that the square "just has a heaviness to it that you don't feel in some of the other squares."
